The Iowa Speedway and American Motorsports Club declared today the Shore Lunch brand as a title sponsor for the ARCA Menards series which will commence on 11 June. Initially, the event was scheduled for 11 June, it will be played as part of the NTT IndyCar series doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.
The Shore Lunch 150 of the ARCA Menards Series will be part of the first ARCA Sioux Chief Showdown, a series of 10 races in which the best teams of the East and West ARCA Menards Series will battle against the patrons of the ARCA Menards Series. In 2016 Shore lunch soups, breading, and batters first time worked as partners with Menards, and the ARCA series.
Last year NASCAR purchased the ARCA Menards series, after buying the ARCA Menards series NASCAR and ARCA worked hard to develop an exciting new racing framework for 2021 and beyond. The development of the ARCA Menards Series will make the series the most professional grass-roots race car, aiming to bridge the gap between the weekly competition and the national touring professional series, and intend to retain the 60-year history of these two series of short-track descent.
In 2006 the inaugural race was played as a 250–lap race, however, in 2009 it was shortened to 200 laps. In 2013 the race was again reduced to 150 laps.
This season the Shore Lunch 150 will start their debut in Iowa for the ARCA Menards Series. The yearly National Bragging Rights Competition will be the 19th East-West Joint Competition held at the fastest Short Track Iowa Speedway. Previous ARCA champions include the most recent NASCAR Cup Series winners, Cole Custer, Chase Elliott, Joey Logano, Corey Lajoie, and Kyle Busch.
